This policy explains what personal information BuyDost collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it. By using buydost.in, you agree to this policy.
BuyDost (buydost.in) is operated by Amritpal Singh, Punjab, India ("BuyDost", "we", "us"). We handle personal data in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our newsletter, apply as a seller, or contact us.
- Order information: the products you buy, order value, payment method and delivery details.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net banking password. We only receive a payment reference and status.
- Usage information: pages visited, device type and the website that referred you, collected through a first-party cookie to understand how our store is used. We do not use this to identify you personally.
2. How we use your information
- To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle returns, replacements and refunds.
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your questions.
- To send newsletters and offers, only if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe any time.
- To prevent fraud, keep the website secure and meet legal and tax obligations.
- To improve our products, website and service.
3. Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, with:
- Razorpay, to process payments securely.
- Courier and logistics partners, to deliver your order (name, phone, address).
- Hosting and email service providers, who run our website and send our emails.
- Independent sellers, only for orders of their products, if a product is sold by a seller on BuyDost.
- Government authorities, when required by law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep your cart and sign-in working, and a first-party analytics cookie to count visits. If we add advertising or analytics services such as Google Analytics or Google AdSense, these services may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store (like the cart) may stop working.
5. How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as required by tax and accounting laws (usually up to 8 years). Account and newsletter data are kept until you ask us to delete them.
6. How we protect it
Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form. Access to customer data is limited to people who need it to run the store.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent for marketing, by emailing care@buydost.in. We respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires it.
8. Children
BuyDost is meant for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
